Emergency Landing Preparation
Prepare safely for an unplanned landing
Do This Now
10 seconds- Listen carefully to crew instructions
- Locate your nearest emergency exit - count rows
- Remove glasses, sharp objects, and high heels
- Tighten seatbelt low across hips
Next 60 Seconds
1 minute- Review brace position from safety card
- Remove items from pockets that could cause injury
- Ensure path to exit is clear mentally
- Stay calm and reassure nearby passengers if needed
- Keep your seatbelt fastened at all times
If Landing is Imminent
Pre-landing- Assume brace position when instructed
- Head down, hands protecting your head
- Feet flat on floor, slightly behind knees
- Stay in position until aircraft stops completely
After Stop/Landing
Post-landing- Wait for crew command before moving
- Leave all belongings behind
- Move quickly but do not run to nearest exit
- Help others only if safe to do so
- Move away from aircraft once outside
